What is your risk level during a taxi control?
Five questions to estimate whether your operation is ready for a control in Flanders — Chiron, documents, driver card and trip data.
In short
This checker does not calculate a precise fine. It indicates whether your organisation presents a low, medium or high risk based on trip centralisation, Chiron transmission, data production and driver card follow-up.
During a taxi control in Flanders, the risk is not limited to a missed trip in Chiron. Officers can also check the driver card, equipment, vehicle documents and your ability to produce requested data. This test gives a first indication — for detailed amounts, see the guide to taxi fines in Flanders.
How to interpret the result?
Low risk
Your trips are centralised, your Chiron declarations are reliable and your documents are up to date. Keep checking regularly — driver cards, vehicles, production access.
Medium risk
You are probably compliant on paper, but too much still depends on the driver, an external app or manual follow-up. The main danger: forgetting at the time of the control.
High risk
You cannot easily prove that your trips, documents and data are in order. During a control, several offences can be recorded at the same time — see the amounts per category.
How to concretely reduce the risk?
Every week
- check driver cards;
- check active vehicles;
- check trips sent to Chiron;
- follow up failed or incomplete trips;
- check that each driver uses the app;
- check that transport documents can be generated.
Every month
- check licences and authorisation cards;
- check insurance;
- check company documents;
- check active/inactive drivers;
- archive useful exports.
For each new driver
- enter the driver card;
- assign the driver to the correct vehicle;
- test a trip;
- check Chiron transmission;
- explain the procedure in case of failure.
